Together they navigate their way around a fragile society of kings, vendettas, and magic.  Their story crosses deserts and mountains.  It begins with fire and ends with water.

This book was awesome!  Right from the start you are dragged into Khensa's story.  The first chapter is probably one of the most exciting first chapters I've read in a while.

Khensa is a great lead.  She is incredibly strong and doesn't take crap from anyone.  She always does things with the best of intentions, and learns from her mistakes.  Bomani is a total ass at the beginning, but as the story progresses, you see him open up.  Their unlikely friendship is great to watch unfold, and you see them begin to have mutual respect for each other.

The world Arreana has built is insane.  And you pretty much have to love a world where krakens exist!
I could not believe where some of these story lines went.  I mean really, who would have thought that playing one song on a harp would end up making you have a price on your head?  I would explain more but honestly, you just need to read this book to find out.

Farro has so much going on, this story is just so huge, but Arreana does an amazing job keeping the story together and clean.  I can't wait to see what happens in the next book!

If you enjoy books with strong female leads, magic, political intrigues, back stabbing, and tiny bits of love in the making, then you should give this book a try!

In Deuce's world, people earn the right to a name only if they survive their first fifteen years.  By that point, each unnamed 'brat' has trained into one of three groups- Breeders, Builders, or Hunters, identifiable by the number of scars they bear on their arms.  Deuce has wanted to be a Huntress for as long as she can remember.
As a Huntress, her purpose is clear-to brave the dangerous tunnels outside the enclave and bring back meat to feed the group while evading ferocious monsters known as Freaks.  She's worked toward this goal her whole live, and nothing's going to stop her, not even a beautiful, brooding Hunter named Fade.  When the mysterious boy becomes her partner, Deuce's troubles are just beginning.
Down below, deviation from the rules is punished swiftly and harshly, and Fade doesn't like following orders.  At first she thinks he's crazy, but as death stalks their sanctuary, and it becomes clear the elders don't always know best, Deuce wonders if Fade might be telling the truth.  Her partner confuses her; she's never known a boy like him before as prone to touching her gently as using his knives with feral grace.
As Deuce's perception shifts, so does the balance in the constant battle for survival.  The mindless Freaks, once considered a threat only due to their seer numbers, show signs of cunning and strategy...but the elders refuse to heed any warnings.  Despite imminent disaster, the enclave puts their faith in strictures and sacrifice instead.  No matter how she tries, Deuce cannot stem the dark tied that carries her far from the only world she's ever known.






Yaaay another dystiopian book! heh.  I read this book right after I read Divergent.  I don't know about most of you but I enjoyed Enclave slightly more. I think because Deuce actually gets some hints as to what happened to her world.  Not just that but she defies the rules and gets kicked out of her Enclave and has to survive above the tunnels with her only companion Fade.

Fade was an interesting character and I liked their interactions and growing relationship.  That is until an event happens where they end up adding two more people to their group.  After that their conversations and everything comes to a halt.  Fade is hardly even mentioned!  it was sad.  And seriously? The ending is horrible!  What happened?  It's like the book got cut off halfway through.  The ending was NOT an ending.  Even though the story is suppose to continue in the next book, I feel like....I feel nothing really.  The story just ended, not on a high note, not on a low note, it just ended!  And there was no climax, no ultimate goal to achieve.





Also.... I have a cat named Deuce.

I'm still excited for the next book to come out, even with the 'not really an ending' ending.

Kiss of Bore

HaHa that's not really what the title of the book was.  I had you going there for a second though didn't I??  But actually this book wasn't all that boring, cause, after all , I did finish it! Why did I read this?  Cause I got it for free on my phone, that's why!  I've heard this series being compared to J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series but I couldn't tell you anything about that as I have not read them yet.
I haven't been feeling the greatest in these past 24 hours so I've been laying around in bed reading this book off my phone.  (Thanks Stanza!)  Here's a summary about the book from Goodreads:

This blurb about the book is way more interesting than the book itself I'd have to say.  Most of this book was Lucan going back and forth on whether he wanted to be with Gabrielle.  He'd come to her in the night (like the creepy emo vampire that he is) have some sexy time with her, and then leave in the morning all brooding and swearing it would be the last time he saw her, only to return to her the next night.  For all intents and purposes Lucan was the girl in this relationship.  SO indecisive I nearly pulled all my hair out.

No really, this is pretty much all that happens in the book!  Back and forth, back and forth.

Yeah, there's a baddie but he makes all together about one and a half pages of the book.  Whoopie I am so scared......

I have heard that this series gets better and maaaaaayyyybe I'll try it out later.
